Antonio Durán, second judge of Judgment of Zacatecoluca and one of the few magistrates openly critical with the Bukele administration and his exception regime, agrees and goes further.

“In a rule of law, deprivation of liberty is punishment. The offender is punished depriving him of liberty, ”he tells BBC Mundo.
